If you do not have your own ISP, you can use the free dial-up ISP account that is provided by Fordham to all members of the Fordham community. To use it, obtain a copy of the document FORDHAM SDS, Student Data Services Off-Campus Network Access Guide. That document describes how to set up your home computer to connect to the Fordham ISP. The document is mainly oriented toward web-browsing and e-mail access, and does not discuss other forms of Internet access. However, the connection will also work to connect to the Department's Unix servers. Follow the directions below.
You can also connect from any computer on the Internet, whether on campus or off, for instance in an Internet cafe or a library, if the computer from which you are connecting has a telnet or SSH client.
