Using X-Windows from home

The X Window System (more conveniently referred to as ``X-windows'') is a network-transparent window system which runs on a wide range of computing and graphics machines. In particular, it runs on all the departmental Unix machines. You can use this graphical environment while working at home, provided you have a broadband Internet connection (DSL or cable modem) at home.
