Accessing Unix mail with OpenWebmail
OpenWebmail is a web interface to Unix mail. It is compatible
with alpine
folders, so the two can be used interchangeably.
To access your mail with OpenWebmail, start a web browser on any
internet-connected computer. Users with accounts on storm visit the URL
Users with accounts on erdos visit the URL
(The first time you visit this URL, you will be asked to accept a
security certificate from the site. This is because OpenWebmail
uses a secure connection to prevent your mail session from being
snooped. Your proper response is to accept the certificate
permanently, answering ``yes'' to all questions in this dialog.)
Enter your Unix username and password in the login box to access your mail.
The OpenWebmail interface is quite user-friendly. You can click on the
OpenWebmail link at the bottom of the page to go to a site that provides
documentation and help.
