Accessing Mail on the Lotus Notes Server

All students at Fordham University are automatically given an e-mail account on a Lotus Notes server. You should be aware that the University administration will send official messages only to your Fordham Lotus Notes address. Therefore you should check this account regularly.

The Lotus Notes server has a web-based interface which is the normal method for students to access it. The way to access it is briefly described in a later section. More information is provided in the document FORDHAM SDS, Student Data Services Off-Campus Network Access Guide available from CIMS.

It is also possible to configure alpine, emacs, or OpenWebmail to fetch your mail from the Lotus Notes server, so you can read it from your Unix account. Methods for doing this are described in the following sections.
