I have posted the homework-related examples we worked out in class on April 6. You can get to them through the usual examples link below or go there straight from here. The mainwindow example is unretouched and still has the bug(s) it had at the end of class.
The host name where your web account resides
is erdos.dsm.fordham.edu. Use a Secure Shell file
transfer client to upload your web materials from your home computer
to the web account. We recommend FileZilla, which runs on Windows,
Mac OS X, and Linux. FileZilla is available for free download at
http://filezilla-project.org/.
Note that erdos does not support traditional (unsecure)
FTP. In FileZilla, use sftp://erdos.dsm.fordham.edu in
the Host field in order to specify Secure FTP.
Some additional help on using Secure Shell and Emacs is
available at http://www.dsm.fordham.edu/help.
NEW: Some helpful hints for using FileZilla are provided by the CIS dept. help document.
Note that these lecture notes are undergoing active revision, and can change from time to time.
The PowerPoint files require Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 or later to view them. I can't help you with that. The PDF files require Adobe Acrobat Reader to view them. You can download Adobe Reader for free from Adobe Systems Inc. OpenOffice Impress is free software available for download from OpenOffice.org
The examples used in the lecture notes can be browsed here.
